Staff Software Engineer

About The Team

Part of our International Technology team, you will enable warehouses, stores, and eCommerce operations globally. We build platforms used in most markets outside the US, collaborating with Walmart International to serve over 5,900 retail units across Africa, Asia, Europe, Americas, and more.

Your Role

• Design, build, test, and deploy cutting-edge solutions at scale impacting millions of customers worldwide.
• Work in a high-performing agile environment, sharing innovative ideas collaboratively.
• Create product-oriented Full Stack Developer experiences that engage our global customer base.
• Lead the delivery of products alongside junior developers while leveraging expertise from engineering teams across geographies.
• Perform root cause analysis and utilize industry research to improve Sam's technology environment.

Your Skills

We are looking for a Senior Engineer with 12+ years in Computer Science. You must have deep knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture, RESTful Web Services, Java programming, JVM internals (concurrency, multi-threading), and strong skills in Spring Framework.

• Extensive experience building services using JAX, Hibernate, Cosmos DB, Elastic Search, Hive, Cassandra, Hadoop, and Kafka.
• Solid understanding of Cloud Development and scalable distributed systems.
• Familiarity with HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, AJAX, GraphQL, React Native/React/Redux is a plus.
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, Log aggregation/Monitoring/alerting, and production support activities (issue identification/resolution).
