Staff Software Engineer

Shield AI is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Autonomy Applications Engineering, to join our growing team in New Delhi. In this critical role, you will leverage your expertise to support customers in implementing and utilizing Shield AI's enterprise software products. You will work closely with clients to understand their unique requirements and ensure the seamless integration of our AI & Autonomy development solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Master the Hivemind Enterprise Autonomy Software Development Kit to become a subject matter expert.
• Develop advanced AI & Autonomy applications using Hivemind for diverse unmanned platforms across air, sea, land, and space domains.
• Deploy and manage Hivemind AI infrastructure at customer locations.
• Deliver comprehensive technical training to customers, empowering their autonomy development initiatives.
• Provide expert assistance to customers in integrating Hivemind autonomy capabilities into their vehicles and platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software and API integration issues for clients.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to incorporate customer feedback and drive product enhancements.
• Create and maintain essential technical documentation and training materials.
• Support the sales team by addressing complex technical inquiries from prospective customers.
• Undertake travel to customer sites as required, with an estimated 30% travel commitment within India and potential extended stays in the USA for training (up to 3 months).

Examples of projects you may contribute to include autonomous drone teaming, helicopter-drone collaboration, autonomy for robotic dogs, and AI applications for fighter jets, among other classified initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 7 years of industry experience, or 4 years of experience with a Master's degree.
• Proven ability to travel and deploy to customer sites across India.
• Willingness and ability to travel to the USA for up to 3 months at a time for training.
• At least 3 years of experience in an integration or applications engineering role.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working within a startup environment.
• Robust technical foundation in software engineering principles.
• Advanced proficiency in modern C++ programming.
• Intermediate proficiency in Python programming.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for client interaction.
• Fluency in both Hindi and English is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience within the defense aviation or robotics sectors.
• Experience in building and leading small enterprise software applications or solutions engineering teams.
