Staff Software Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design, build, and operate the backend infrastructure powering our AI platform. You will architect distributed systems, evolve cloud-native services, and drive technical decisions that enhance reliability, scalability, and developer productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Backend Architecture & Development: Design and build high-quality production code for backend services with a focus on maintainability, performance, and security. Architect distributed systems supporting real-time interactions and asynchronous processing using Python (preferred), Go, or Java.
• Cloud Infrastructure Engineering: Build and operate Kubernetes/EKS-based services across core layers including networking, storage, identity, and observability. Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform to ensure environment consistency and drift-safe workflows.
• Data & Systems Design: Evolve relational (SQL) and NoSQL data models, managing schema design, migrations, and replication patterns. Implement resilient asynchronous systems using queues, RPCs, and robust failure-handling strategies.
• CICD & DevOps Excellence: Design and improve CI/CD pipelines to accelerate release workflows and enhance engineering productivity in production environments.
• Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor engineers through code reviews, design sessions, and incident post-mortems. Drive technical strategy that improves system health and operational ownership across the platform team.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: At least 8+ years of professional software engineering, with significant focus on backend development and infrastructure.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Python, Go, or Java. Deep hands-on production experience with Kubernetes/EKS, Terraform, Docker, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins/GitLab), and observability stacks (Prometheus/Grafana).
• Distributed Systems: Proven track record designing microservices using message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ) and handling asynchronous event-driven architectures.
