Staff Platform Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Staff Platform Engineer to join our platform engineering team. This pivotal role involves designing, building, and maintaining internal platforms that empower software development teams. You will create 'golden paths' for streamlined development, enhance application observability through robust monitoring, and collaborate cross-functionally to build scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and oversee implementation of Windows Server solutions including Configuration Manager (SCCM), Group Policy, and CIS-based security hardening.
• Define best practices for patch management, server software deployment, and disk space remediation.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex infrastructure issues while ensuring compliance with CIS benchmarks.
• Drive automation using Ansible (playbooks/roles) to reduce toil and increase reliability.
• Contribute to infrastructure roadmap planning, capacity forecasting, and evaluate emerging technologies like AWS/Azure.

Key Requirements

• Experience: 7+ years in Windows Server engineering (SCCM, Active Directory, GPO) with a minimum of 4+ years specifically in platform/DevOps fields.
• Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in Ansible playbooks and scripting languages including PowerShell, Python, and YAML.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Advanced knowledge of AWS (preferred) and Azure, AMI baking/image lifecycle management, Terraform/CloudFormation IaC tools.
• CI/CD & Version Control: Experience designing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or CodePipeline; proficiency with Git/Bitbucket/TFS.
• Systems Administration: Strong OS administration skills for Windows and Linux, networking principles (DNS, Load Balancers), and understanding of ADFS.
