Staff Full Stack Engineer

About the Role

The Reservations and Additional Products team manages core reservation data powering Airbnb's Stays, Experiences, Services, Order Data systems, Gift Cards platform, and post-booking flows. This role drives innovation in our e-commerce engine.

What You'll Do Daily

• Collaborate with design and product teams to ideate, build, and scale new features from concept to production.
• Pioneer advanced technical capabilities that enable breakthrough product innovations.
• Create prototypes to validate ideas while designing for long-term scalability and maintainability.
• Establish coding standards, development workflows, and best practices across the engineering organization.
• Mentor senior developers and foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.

Your Background

• 10+ years in hands-on full-stack software engineering roles.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree (CS preferred) or equivalent practical experience.
• Expertise required: Java/Kotlin, JavaScript/React (preferred), and backend systems within large-scale SOA environments handling mission-critical data.
• Pastie for efficiency, system availability, technical quality, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proven ability to manage projects, align stakeholders, mentor teams, and drive alignment across functions.

Location & Eligibility

This is a US-Remote position. You must reside in a state where Airbnb has an active legal entity (see official exclusion list). Occasional office visits or offsite attendance may be required as mutually agreed with your manager.
