About the Role
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer - Frontend (UI) based in Noida, India. In this role, you will drive frontend architecture, shared capabilities, and engineering excellence across multiple teams. You will operate as an internal consultant to improve consistency, scalability, developer experience, and maintainability within Ontic's frontend ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture: Define and evolve frontend patterns for components, state management, and integrations across product teams. Lead architecture reviews to ensure scalable solutions.
- Platform & Shared Capabilities: Drive adoption of shared frameworks and tooling. Reduce duplicated effort by building reusable component libraries and UI infrastructure (Design Systems).
- Technical Direction: Establish engineering standards, best practices, and decision frameworks for frontend development without direct authority.
- Performance & Quality: Define standards for accessibility, performance, and reliability. Lead initiatives to improve application responsiveness through browser internals optimization.
- Risk Management: Identify systemic risks like bottlenecks or scalability challenges across the platform and drive technical debt reduction.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor senior engineers and foster a culture of quality. Act as a multiplier to solve recurring engineering challenges for other teams.
Qualifications
You will need 8-12 years of software experience with expert-level proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
Extensive background using React (or similar) on large-scale applications is required. You must have deep expertise in frontend architecture, design systems, and browser internals for performance optimization.
Good to Haves: Experience leading micro-frontend architectures, security-focused development, AI-assisted coding tools, or platform modernization initiatives.
