Staff Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust backend solutions for complex business workflows within a fast-paced startup environment.
• Take full end-to-end ownership of components, managing the entire lifecycle from design and coding to testing, integration, deployment, and enhancements.
• Develop high-quality code in Java using object-oriented principles.
• Analyze system performance and resolve bottlenecks effectively.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of excellent code quality within the team.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with management, product managers, QA, and UI/UX teams to deliver on-time results.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
• Demonstrated strong sense of ownership and accountability for assigned tasks.
• Advanced proficiency in Java and object-oriented development patterns.
• Solid understanding and practical experience with at least one NoSQL database technology.
• Strong problem-solving skills, including technical troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.
• Able to serve as a role model for young engineers, enforcing high standards of code quality.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
