SSDE (Backend)

Join a dynamic development team at ZopSmart Technology in Bangalore as a Backend Software Development Engineer (SSDE). You will collaborate with senior and junior developers, guided by a Scrum Master, to achieve quarterly and annual business objectives. Our global software architects will support your efforts in proposing and implementing technical architectures. Reporting to the Java Backend Team Lead, you will focus on professional growth and contribute to building scalable and automated solutions. This is a full-time, work-from-office position.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, automated solutions to complex problems.
• Write well-tested, auto-testable, and auto-deployable code.
• Take ownership of significant project modules and features.
• Drive technical advancements and strategic direction for projects.
• Mentor junior team members and foster their technical development.
• Participate in hiring processes to help grow the engineering team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related engineering/computing field.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in problem-solving, analytical thinking, data structures, and algorithms.
• Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices development, with a deep understanding of Git, code reviews, and the software development lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A collaborative team player with leadership potential.

Preferred Qualifications

• A passport and willingness to travel internationally if needed. A valid US business visa is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS.
• Familiarity with caching mechanisms and event-driven architectures.
