Sr.Business Intelligence Engineer

As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining a robust, scalable, and efficient reporting and analytical system designed to support a rapidly growing business. Your role will involve close collaboration with various business teams to identify reporting and analytical requirements, build necessary data models, integrate new data sources, and create comprehensive data visualizations for key stakeholders. You will analyze data, identify correlations across different functional areas, perform statistical analysis, derive insights, and provide recommendations based on your findings to aid senior leadership in making critical business decisions. Data analysis is fundamental to Amazon's culture, and your work will directly influence organizational decision-making and strategy. You will utilize analytical tools, possess strong SQL scripting skills, optimize SQL query performance, and partner with internal customers to address key business questions. Key Job Responsibilities

• Develop complex queries for ad hoc requests, projects, and ongoing reporting.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, automated, and user-friendly systems, reports, and dashboards to meet analytical and business needs.
• Design, implement, and support key datasets that provide structured and timely access to actionable business information, addressing stakeholder requirements.
• Engage directly with stakeholders to gather requirements and take ownership of automated end-to-end reporting solutions.
• Collaborate with analysts, data engineers, business intelligence engineers, and software development engineers across Amazon to deliver comprehensive data solutions.
• Simplify and automate reporting, audits, and other data-driven activities; build solutions for maximum scale and stakeholder self-service capabilities.
• Demonstrate proficiency with SQL queries for data retrieval and analysis. Learn and understand a wide range of Amazon's data resources to effectively leverage them.
• Surface and track key product metrics that identify opportunities for innovation and optimization.
• Mentor teammates, contribute to team and organizational strategic planning, and lead cross-organizational discussions.

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years of SQL experience.
• Experience programming to extract, transform, and clean large (multi-TB) datasets.
• Experience with the theory and practice of experimental design and statistical analysis of results.
• Experience with AWS technologies.
• Experience in scripting for automation (e.g., Python) and advanced SQL skills.
• Experience with the theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning, and data mining.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs.
• Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership.
• Master's degree in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative field.
