Full Job Description
We are seeking an adaptable, enthusiastic, and reliable individual to join our Bluetooth (BT) or WLAN protocol design team. This role involves close collaboration with the upper stack and systems teams to develop complex protocol features for WLAN and BT. You will have a unique opportunity to work across engineering disciplines, from high-level software to low-level hardware. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop software for the Bluetooth lower layer stack and/or WLAN uCode.
- Analyze and support bug fixes for customers during the final stages of programs.
- Communicate bugs and issues to lead engineers.
- Support software and hardware debugging for testing issues.
- Collaborate with colleagues to optimize solutions.
- Participate in testing and maintenance activities with team members.
Required Competencies
- Familiarity with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth (BT) specification link layer and profiles.
- Basic understanding of hardware and experience with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth sniffer tools, log analysis, and embedded debuggers.
- Strong debugging and analytical abilities.
- Proactive, self-starter capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Well-organized with a keen attention to detail, ensuring work accuracy.
- Positive attitude and work ethic, willing to ask questions and explore new ideas.
- Ability to solve routine problems using practical technological solutions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong team player able to collaborate effectively within a diverse team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant engineering role.
- Proficiency in C programming.
- Experience developing for Bluetooth (Specification 5.3) and/or WLAN (IEEE 802.11) specification link layers and profiles.
- Experience with system testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of wireless products.
- Work experience with ASIC emulators is a plus.
- Python scripting experience is a bonus.
- No travel required.
