Senior Systems Engineer - Pune, India
Harris Computer is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Pune, India. This is a permanent position requiring 2-3 years of experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute application installations, upgrades, and product maintenance for our existing customer base.
- Resolve application upgrade issues through problem analysis, diagnosis, and remediation, including critical incidents.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive upgrade documentation and standardized operational processes.
- Leverage prior knowledge of EHR application support and upgrades; experience with the Paragon application is a significant advantage.
- Cultivate strong, positive working relationships with both customers and internal project team members.
- Effectively plan, prioritize, and execute assigned tasks within established deadlines.
- Ensure adherence to and compliance with change control policies and procedures.
- Manage incidents and service requests, ensuring prompt resolution and consistent communication.
- Support the deployment of development pipelines using GitHub for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD).
- Participate in a rotational shift schedule, including nighttime and weekend coverage, to ensure 24/7 support for production environments.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Proficient knowledge and hands-on experience with Windows operating systems and IIS administration.
- Familiarity with PowerShell for scripting application installations and uninstalls.
- Working knowledge of VMWare, Active Directory, and fundamental networking concepts.
- Experience with Azure services, including resource management and monitoring capabilities.
- Practical experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions for CI/CD workflows.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
- Ability to quickly learn and effectively communicate understanding of new technologies.
- Solid understanding of software and hardware implementation methodologies.
- Capability to identify and recommend optimal solutions for identified problems or deficiencies.
Education and Certifications
- A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, engineering, information systems/technology, or a comparable combination of relevant training and work experience.
- Microsoft AZ-900 Certification is recommended.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.
- Skill in explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Flexibility and willingness to work during nighttime hours to support production environment upgrades.
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in systems engineering or a similar technical role.
