Sr. Systems Engineer

Join Arista's Infrastructure Engineering team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, to work alongside Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), network, and security engineers. This dynamic team is instrumental in building and operating our global infrastructure, encompassing data centers and hybrid cloud environments, to guarantee high availability, scalability, and peak performance across all systems.

What You'll Do

• Manage and maintain global infrastructure, ensuring service availability.
• Handle Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) processes and hardware refreshes.
• Execute data center migrations as required.
• Perform server patching and upgrades.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to security incidents.
• Develop data center solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Design and implement scalable hybrid cloud environments, integrating public cloud IaaS with physical data centers.
• Collaborate closely with SREs to ensure production-grade manageability of software components, maximizing visibility into network operations and providing flexibility during component failures.
• Oversee server selection, qualification, and deployment processes.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science is preferred.
• Proficiency in system administration for Linux and ESXi.
• Development experience in Python, IaC, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins and GitHub.
• Solid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 OSI network models.
• Hands-on experience with the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) stack.
• Administrative-level knowledge of major Public Cloud Providers.
• Experience with Capacity Management, Availability Monitoring, and monitoring tools for Pop infrastructure, such as AIOPs, Wavefront, LogicMonitor, ELK stack, and SaltStack.
