Job Summary: Sr. Systems Engineer - Bengaluru

As a Systems Engineer at Qualcomm in Bengaluru, you will play a crucial role in researching, designing, developing, simulating, and validating system-level software, hardware, architectures, algorithms, and solutions. You will be instrumental in enabling cutting-edge technologies and ensuring our systems meet and exceed rigorous requirements and standards. Collaboration across diverse functional teams is key to success in this role.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least 2 years of Systems Engineering or relevant work experience.
• Alternatively, a Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least 1 year of Systems Engineering or relevant work experience.
• A PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
• 2+ years of experience with 4G/5G/6G systems and cellular standards such as 3GPP NR, LTE, or 3G.
• 2+ years of experience working within a large, matrixed organization.
• 1+ year of experience interacting with senior leadership (e.g., Sr. Staff level and above).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Apply Systems knowledge and experience to research, design, develop, simulate, and validate system-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions, ensuring adherence to system-level requirements and standards.
• Perform functional analysis to drive requirements and specifications, and to define and align hardware and software standards.
• Develop and analyze system-level designs, including requirements, interface definitions, functional/performance definitions, and implementation for new or existing systems.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to complete project work, including feature implementation, testing, and system accuracy verification.
• Generate innovative ideas (e.g., Invention Disclosure Forms - IDFs) for product or feature areas.
• Lead system-level problem triage to identify root causes and present testing and debugging results to team members.

Level of Responsibility

• Work under supervision, with decisions potentially impacting work beyond the immediate work group.
• Requires strong verbal and written communication skills. May involve basic negotiation, influence, and tact.
• Possesses moderate influence over key organizational decisions, often being consulted by senior leadership.
• Tasks are multi-step and may require varied execution orders; effective task completion necessitates planning, problem-solving, and prioritization.
