Sr Software Engineer I

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a Tech Lead focus to play a pivotal role in the design, development, unit testing, installation, and ongoing maintenance of Zinnia's software platforms. You will collaborate with stakeholders to create solutions and products that enhance the efficiency and service delivery for Zinnia's internal teams and clients, ultimately benefiting end customers. This role involves direct interaction with project managers and business stakeholders, and potentially with Zinnia's clients. A key aspect of this position is facilitating, architecting, and enabling junior team members through mentorship in both soft skills and technical expertise.

What You'll Do:

• Contribute to a global, cross-functional team in developing innovative software for Zinnia's stakeholders.
• Create well-designed, customized, testable, and efficient code for Life & Annuity Exchange platforms.
• Support teams in providing ongoing assistance, troubleshooting, improvements, and custom enhancements to existing Life & Annuity Exchange platforms.
• Demonstrate flexibility to meet Zinnia's challenging development and delivery needs.
• Collaborate effectively with global teams, internal stakeholders, and customers.
• Serve as a technology expert and mentor for team members, conducting technical reviews.
• Architect, design, develop, and validate various requirements for Zinnia platforms.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing business needs and prioritizing tasks effectively.
• Exhibit self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with team members and business units, showing enthusiasm and flexibility across diverse projects.

What You'll Need:

• 10-14 years of experience with Microsoft .NET technologies, encompassing the full project lifecycle using Agile methodologies.
• Proficiency in architecting, designing, developing, and delivering solutions using C#/.Net, ASP.Net, MVC, .NET Web API, Micro Services, Visual Studio IDE, SSRS, SOAP, XML, and GitHub.
• A solid understanding of advanced design patterns, API-first design, and SOLID principles.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to function effectively within a cross-functional, global team.
• Excellent client communication, issue management, deployment, and delivery support capabilities.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, such as AWS.
• Skills in team coordination, analytical thinking, self-learning, communication, technical documentation, and system analysis.

Good to Have:

• Experience with enterprise-level applications/products.
• Working knowledge of React and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with the Insurance/financial services (Life and Annuity) industry.
• Experience with Web-based Software as a Service (SaaS) applications.
