Sr Software Engineer

Join PayPal as a Senior Software Engineer in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. This role is integral to delivering comprehensive solutions across the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including design, implementation, testing, delivery, and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver complete solutions spanning all phases of the SDLC, based on definitions from more senior roles.
• Advise immediate management on project-level issues.
• Guide junior engineers.
• Operate with minimal day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions informed by internal conventions and industry best practices.
• Apply technical best practices in all decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:

• Python Programming: Professional Python development experience with a deep understanding of core concepts. Ability to design and implement production-ready Gen AI applications such as RAG pipelines, autonomous agents, and MCP servers using Python. Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker containers is expected.
• AI Agent Development: Experience building autonomous and multi-agent systems with capabilities for planning, tool-use, memory, and reflection. Integrate agents with external APIs, databases, and real-world environments. Familiarity with agent frameworks like CrewAI, LangGraph, or LangFlow is beneficial.
• MCP & Context Management: Implement Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar standards for dynamic context injection, tool discovery, and interoperable agent-tool interactions.
• End-to-End Gen AI MLOps: Own the full lifecycle of Gen AI models, from data curation and training to deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement using modern Gen AI MLOps practices.
• LLM Inference & Optimization: Proficiency in designing and optimizing high-performance LLM inference pipelines using frameworks like vLLM, SGLang, or TensorRT-LLM. Understanding techniques such as KV-cache management, speculative decoding, quantization, and distributed inference (tensor/pipeline parallelism) is a significant plus.
