Sr. Software Developer Engineer I – Backend & AI-Driven SaaS Engineering

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner company, is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Software Developer Engineer I based in India to lead backend development for scalable, AI-powered SaaS solutions. This role offers the chance to own critical product areas, design high-performance backend systems, and solve complex engineering challenges while collaborating with cross-functional teams including Product, Data, ML, and Engineering.

You will drive technical leadership, architecture decisions, and mentorship, contributing to reliable, secure, and scalable platforms serving global customers. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain robust backend services, APIs (REST/GraphQL/gRPC), and integrations for SaaS products.
• Own technical areas through architecture decisions, implementation, testing, and production delivery.
• Develop distributed systems for large-scale, multi-tenant environments with emphasis on scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Integrate AI/ML-powered features into production applications, including LLM workflows and recommendation systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, and ML teams to deliver customer-centric solutions.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
• Lead engineering initiatives and improve development processes using modern practices (e.g., observability, CI/CD, cloud-native tools).
• Ensure security, data privacy, and compliance in all systems.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend expertise.
• Proven ability to deliver scalable SaaS platforms, distributed systems, and production-grade APIs.
• Proficiency in backend languages (Go, Java, Node.js/TypeScript, Rust) and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, databases, caching, and storage systems.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML integration, LLM capabilities, and MLOps.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate across technical and business teams.
