Senior Software Development Engineer - Java Developer (Pune, Maharashtra)

At Quest Global, we are seeking a talented Senior Software Development Engineer with a strong background in Java development to join our team in Pune, Maharashtra. This full-time role is ideal for an experienced engineer passionate about building scalable backend systems and contributing to meaningful engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable backend systems utilizing Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain robust microservices architectures.
• Develop and efficiently consume RESTful APIs.
• Deploy and manage applications on leading cloud platforms such as AWS or Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, QA engineers, and DevOps specialists, to ensure end-to-end feature delivery.
• Optimize application performance and proactively troubleshoot production issues.
• Write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code.
• Actively participate in code reviews and champion software engineering best practices.

Required Skills and Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend development.
• Demonstrated strong expertise in Java (version 8 or higher).
• Hands-on experience with the Spring Boot framework, including Spring MVC and Spring Data.
• A solid understanding of REST API design principles and best practices.
• Proven experience working with Microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, specifically AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• A good understanding of both relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of establishing and managing CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with frontend development using React.js.
• Hands-on experience with API automation testing frameworks and tools like Rest Assured, Postman, or Karate.
• Exposure to event-driven architectures using technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Knowledge of security best practices, including OAuth2 and JWT.
