Sr. Safety Engineer

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer for a contingent worker role in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, within the APAC region. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field, along with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety engineering role, ideally within a manufacturing setting (HVAC manufacturing experience is a plus). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with safety audits, risk assessments, and ensuring OSHA compliance. Preferred certifications include OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Safety, Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP), and First Aid/CPR. Key skills include a strong understanding of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards, proficiency in hazard analysis, risk assessments, and root cause analysis. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential, alongside strong problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in safety management software and the Microsoft Office Suite is required. The role also involves training and educating employees at all organizational levels on safety procedures.
