Sr. Product Security Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Product Security Engineer to join our joint venture team focused on advancing electric vehicle technology. You will collaborate with product security and software development teams throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle, ensuring that every aspect of our products is secure, resilient, and compliant with global standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Security Requirements Engineering: Partner with architecture teams to decompose high-level goals into concrete system requirements. Generate robust specifications for security technologies protecting critical product assets using industry-leading methodologies.
• Validation & Testing Strategy: Design and execute comprehensive validation plans, including positive tests (happy paths) and abuse cases (attack simulations). Validate security controls at the vehicle, subsystem, ECU, and software levels to ensure resilience against real-world threats.
• Test Development Execution: Build both manual and automated test suites in multiple languages (Python, Go, Java, C/C++, Rust) for diverse architectures. Develop functional and non-functional tests executable on Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) benches.
• Silicon & Supply Chain Security: Evaluate internal development sources while validating supplier components to meet rigorous requirements, even in scenarios where source code access is limited. Ensure end-to-end compliance without compromising security posture.
• Compliance Documentation: Author detailed testing reports, triage issues, and compile evidence for UN R155 (CSMS) type approval and homologation. Collaborate with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) teams to align on documentation formats required by global regulators like the EU.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Share test results with development teams, review identified vulnerabilities, suggest effective mitigations for failed tests, and validate subsequent fixes. Work closely with security engineering peers operating Security HILs to maintain a unified defense strategy.
