Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Network Operations Engineer to join their team in Pune, India. This role is hybrid and involves overseeing the daily operations of Network Operations Engineers within the Technical Operations Centre during their shift. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient incident management, troubleshooting, and resolution of network-related issues, meeting defined SLAs and targets. A key aspect of this role is maintaining clear communication with internal teams, stakeholders, and the Global Network Services Operations management team.
Key responsibilities include leading, coaching, and mentoring Network Operations Engineers to drive high performance. You will oversee the timely identification, resolution, and escalation of network service incidents. Continuous monitoring of the company’s global network infrastructure using various tools is essential. You will act as the primary point of contact for escalations during your shift and ensure effective communication with management and affected teams. Maintaining and updating incident reports, shift handovers, and troubleshooting documentation for knowledge transfer is also crucial. Collaboration with other shifts, teams, and departments to address complex issues, plan maintenance, and support continuous service improvement is expected. Ensuring all operations adhere to company compliance, security, and safety standards is a priority. You will track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying areas for improvement and developing action plans. Leading the team through high-pressure situations, such as major incidents, and conducting thorough shift handovers are critical functions.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, with equivalent experience considered. A minimum of 5 years of experience in network operations within a global enterprise with complex infrastructure is required, along with previous leadership or supervisory experience in a NOC or similar environment. Strong technical skills in Cisco Routing/Switching configuration and diagnostics, as well as firewall configuration and diagnostics (Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto), are essential. Experience with Cisco LAN, WAN, WLAN technologies, VPN, load balancers, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP is necessary. A solid understanding of network features and protocols like TCP/IP and BGP, along with familiarity with network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, is expected. CCNA, ITIL, or similar certifications are highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to manage diverse teams and work effectively under pressure in high-stress environments.
