Sr Network Engineer

As a Senior Network Engineer in Hyderabad, India, you will play a crucial role in designing, deploying, operating, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructures. Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and deploying networks aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Collaborating with project and program managers to ensure timely project completion and issue resolution.
• Proactively operating and troubleshooting networks to minimize downtime and resolve issues swiftly.
• Leading efforts to mitigate and resolve outage-causing events.
• Validating problem descriptions, performing detailed diagnoses, and tracking issues in a trouble-ticketing system.
• Conducting investigations into non-critical functional issues.
• Proactively analyzing network parameters like capacity and availability to prevent outages.
• Reviewing and preparing for planned changes to the production environment.
• Participating in a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends.
• Partnering with teams for software upgrades and device maintenance.
• Mentoring the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team and contributing to operational process improvements.
• Providing feedback to infrastructure architects on design issues and improvements, and contributing to new initiative designs.

Sample first 6-month deliverables include:

• Rapid integration into the environment and understanding of network architecture, organization, and procedures.
• Deploying datacenter capacity based on demand.
• Participating in incident bridges to troubleshoot and mitigate network outages.
• Taking ownership of sustainment engineering functions for a minimum of two datacenters.
• Partnering with the SRE team to identify and resolve a network process issue.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Experience leveraging or critically thinking about AI integration into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
• A strong foundation in networking, including routing, switching, security, and load balancing.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud computing technologies (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform) on Windows and/or Linux.
• Expertise in Azure Core Platform (Compute, Storage, Networking) and Azure Web Apps.
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools like DevOps, Bit Bucket, and GitHub.
• Proficiency in one or more automation languages (PowerShell, shell scripts, Perl, Python, Ansible, Terraform) is desired.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience with Internet and data center networks.
• Solid understanding and experience with BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, HSRP/VRRP, IPSEC, SNMP.
• Deep, hands-on experience with TCP/IP protocols, including traffic analysis with Wireshark.
• Familiarity with Cisco IOS and JunOS operating systems.
• F5 and Cisco ASA knowledge and experience are strongly desired.
• Experience with network monitoring applications like EMC Watch4Net, Cacti, Splunk is a plus.
• Ability to effectively partner with globally distributed peers.
