Senior Machine Learning Platforms Engineer - PayPal, Bengaluru

PayPal is seeking a highly experienced Senior Machine Learning Platforms Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bengaluru, India. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, optimizing, and deploying cutting-edge machine learning models and solutions that power PayPal's products and services. You will work with large-scale datasets, collaborate with talented engineers and data scientists, and contribute to the operational excellence of our ML infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize machine learning models for a diverse range of applications.
• Perform data preprocessing and in-depth analysis of large datasets to uncover actionable insights.
• Successfully deploy ML solutions into production environments utilizing industry-standard tools and frameworks.
• Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate ML models into new and existing products and services.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of deployed models, implementing improvements as needed.
• Contribute to the design, implementation, and deployment of scalable AI/ML solutions in both on-premises and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Build and maintain scalable data solutions using big data frameworks and distributed storage systems (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Dataproc).
• Leverage proficiency in cloud platforms, particularly GCP, and container orchestration tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Develop predictive machine learning models and implement large language models (LLMs).
• Apply strong expertise in data modeling, feature engineering, and classical machine learning algorithms (e.g., neural networks, linear regression, logistic regression, random forest).
• Adhere to best practices in AI/ML security, compliance, and ethical AI.
• Gain practical expertise in fine-tuning, serving, and inferencing large language models (LLMs).
• Explore and implement agentic frameworks including Langchain, CrewAI, Langgraph, and contribute to MCP server development.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Extensive experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and tools for data processing and model deployment.
• Expert-level programming skills in Python, with a strong understanding of memory management, advanced data structures, concurrency, and performance optimization.
• Proven track record in designing, deploying, and operationalizing AI/ML solutions.
• Hands-on experience with big data frameworks and distributed storage systems.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (especially GCP) and container orchestration tools.
• Strong expertise in developing predictive ML models and LLMs.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, feature engineering, and classical ML algorithms.
• Knowledge of AI/ML security, compliance, and ethical AI practices.
• Experience with agentic frameworks is highly desirable.
• Practical expertise in LLM fine-tuning, serving, and inferencing.
