Sr. Manager

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering for the Browse and Discovery Platform team at Roku. In this role, you will own engineering for featured experiences and lead critical components of our browse platform on behalf of millions of TV streamers globally.

• Lead and grow a high-performing backend engineering team responsible for building scalable services and APIs that connect content to user experiences across Roku devices.
• Define technical direction, guide architectural decisions in distributed systems, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver new features from concept through launch.
• Architect highly available, large-scale solutions while balancing rapid product iteration with long-term platform stability and observability.

• 10+ years of software development experience building high-availability distributed systems (Java preferred).
• 5+ years in a leadership role managing engineering teams and driving projects from conception to delivery.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, RESTful APIs, message queues, and databases.
