Sr Machine Learning Engineer

PayPal is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in Bengaluru, India. This role involves developing and optimizing machine learning models, preprocessing and analyzing large datasets, and deploying ML solutions into production. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, monitor model performance, and possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Proficiency in ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn is required, along with familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. The position demands expertise in designing, implementing, and deploying end-to-end AI/ML solutions on-premise and in the cloud, alongside hands-on experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, HBase, Kafka) and traditional machine learning algorithms. Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), including RAG, MCP, and Agentic Agents, as well as containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes), is highly valued. Strong SQL skills, ETL processes, database design, and knowledge of NoSQL systems (HBase, Redis, Aerospike) are essential. A solid understanding of distributed systems, real-time data streaming, and complex event processing architectures is also expected. Full-stack engineering experience is considered a plus.
