Senior Front-End Engineer - Full Stack Opportunity at WEX Inc. in Bengaluru, Karnataka

Join the NAM Experiences team at WEX Inc. as a Senior Front-End Engineer with strong full-stack exposure. You will play a crucial role in developing intuitive, high-performance web applications that integrate with backend services to deliver exceptional customer experiences. These platforms are vital for large fleets and transportation companies, enabling them to manage credit issuance for drivers and operators, and providing insights into digital spend controls and real-time transactions. Your primary focus will be on building responsive and robust user interfaces that empower fleet managers to configure controls, analyze reports, and optimize their daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance front-end user interfaces.
• Construct and manage reusable component libraries and design-system assets for multiple Mobility applications.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on system design and ensure alignment across engineering teams.
• Implement comprehensive automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, end-to-end, concurrency, and performance tests.
• Partner with tech leads and senior engineers to identify performance bottlenecks, address technical debt, and drive scalability and stability improvements.
• Develop automation frameworks for testing, monitoring, auto-scaling, and CI/CD to accelerate time-to-market.
• Engage with cross-functional teams (product managers, designers, engineers) to define and implement new features.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and continuously learn and apply engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex issues, develop effective fixes, document root cause analyses, and ensure sustained performance and reliability.
• Maintain essential documentation, including design documents, run books, change management records, and readiness plans.
• Provide critical live-site support for production applications through system monitoring, rapid incident resolution, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Gain practical experience with cutting-edge automation and AI-driven solutions.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 5-8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in modern front-end frameworks such as Angular (preferred) or React.
• Strong command of web scripting languages including TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3/SASS.
• Experience with consuming and testing RESTful or GraphQL APIs, and building automated test frameworks within CI/CD pipelines. GitHub experience is a plus.
• Expertise in fundamental web security principles (authentication, authorization, data protection).
• Familiarity with Git, automated testing frameworks, and CI/CD workflows.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a strong emphasis on user experience and code maintainability.
• Proven ability to create and implement design documents for intricate system requirements.
• Professional written and verbal communication abilities, coupled with a collaborative and empathetic approach.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Exposure to back-end technologies such as Java (preferred), Node.js, or Go.
• Experience with cloud-native environments including Docker, Kubernetes, or major cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Familiarity with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with design systems, accessibility standards (WCAG), and large-scale performance optimization.
