Sr. Engineer

About us:

As a Senior Engineer, you will serve as a specialist in the engineering team supporting our product. You help develop and gain insight into application architecture, distilling abstract concepts into concrete designs to build robust systems.

Your Responsibilities:

• Design & Development: Architect and implement high-performance, low-latency solutions in Java or Kotlin.
  
• Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to refine requirements, design solutions, and perform code reviews.
  
• Scalability & Reliability: Ensure microservices are fault-tolerant and can handle high traffic volumes in our distributed environment.
  
• Observability & Monitoring: Set up metrics, tracing, and logs to maintain operational health using tools like Grafana and ELK.
  
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and best practices to junior team members on backend technologies and microservices architecture.
  
• Continuous Learning: Stay current with the latest trends in distributed systems, Kafka messaging patterns, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).

Your Expertise:
- 5+ years in software design & development; at least 4 years building scalable backend apps.
- Proven track record designing microservices and event-driven systems.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational options.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka for data streaming.
- Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana, ELK, Micrometer, OpenTelemetry.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize system capacity, throughput, and latency.
