About this Opportunity

Ericsson is seeking a diligent Sr. Engineer-RAN to join our Automated Operations team. As a key member, you will play a crucial role in managing maintenance activities, providing technical support, and coordinating daily operational tasks to ensure efficient activation, configuration, and testing of services.

Your Responsibilities:

  • 24/7 Escalation Point: Serve as the primary escalation contact for Automated Operations with round-the-clock coverage.
  • Ticket Management & Monitoring: Continuously monitor ticket queues to ensure timely responses and proactively detect potential failures.
  • Maintenance & Change Management: Participate in routine maintenance, conduct change impact analysis, execute software upgrades (site commissioning, re-homing, swaps), and manage user access.
  • Incident Resolution: Provide 24x7 support for incident management, initiating escalations when necessary to resolve issues swiftly.
  • System Administration & DB Management: Perform system admin tasks, maintain databases, and handle standard service requests.
  • Problem Solving: Undertake proactive problem identification, investigate root causes (fault management), diagnose complex radio protocol/signaling issues, and propose effective solutions.
  • Customer Experience & Reporting: Drive initiatives to improve customer experience. Prepare technical reports, status updates for governance meetings, and handle customer complaints.
  • Leadership & Coordination: Mentor junior team members, coordinate with field teams and vendors (Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia), and ensure adherence to processes.

The Skills You Bring:

  • Experience: 7–12 years of hands-on experience in RAN network operations across all generations (2G/3G/4G/5G), including BSCs and RNCs.
  • RAN Technologies: Deep knowledge of radio protocols, signaling flows, handovers, call flows, and end-to-end connectivity.
  • Multivendor Expertise: Comfort working with equipment from various vendors (Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia) and familiarity with their specific OSS/EMS tools.
  • Fault & Performance Management: Advanced skills in alarm monitoring, root-cause analysis, RF tuning, neighbor-list optimization, load balancing, capacity management, and throughput improvement.
  • Soft Skills: Strong documentation abilities (customer-ready outputs) and leadership qualities to coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively.
