Senior Engineer Embedded Firmware - Electric Vehicle Chargers

Eaton is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer with expertise in embedded firmware development, specifically for the electric vehicle (EV) charger domain. This role is crucial for developing low-level firmware for electronic sub-systems, contributing to our Energy Transition & Digital Services (ETDS) initiatives. You will collaborate closely with Product Development teams in Pune and Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop low-level device drivers for various peripherals, including CAN, RS485, SPI, Ethernet, and ADC.
• Engage in board bring-up, bootloader development, RTOS implementation, and firmware testing at unit and module levels.
• Design and develop applications for embedded systems.
• Implement and work with communication protocols such as Modbus over RS485/TCP and TCP/IP.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to define software interfaces, control designs, and meet system and debugging requirements.
• Develop and test prototypes and proof-of-concept control algorithms in alignment with industry standards.
• Review hardware schematics to ensure seamless integration.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven programming skills in embedded C.
• Experience with microcontrollers, including STM, C2000, and Aurix processor series.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities.
• Familiarity with development tools and platforms like JIRA, Confluence, Blackduck, Coverity, and GitHub.
• Experience with software interface and control design.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated creativity, self-direction, and innovation.
• Strong soft skills, team management abilities, and a focus on resource optimization.
• Educational background: BE/M.Tech in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience: 5-9 years.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience in the AC/DC charger domain.
• Knowledge of Cyber Security principles.
