Full Job Description
This Sr. Engineer, Backend, Enterprise role at a partner company (managed by Jobgether) is designed for experienced backend engineers seeking to build and scale critical enterprise-grade systems. You will collaborate with global teams to design, develop, and maintain robust backend solutions that power integrations for a global technology platform. Key responsibilities include:
- Building, evolving, and maintaining enterprise-grade integrations using REST APIs, OAuth flows, webhooks, and authentication systems.
- Owning backend projects from design to deployment, ensuring reliability, security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Leveraging AI-assisted and agentic development workflows for improved productivity, including code review and technical quality.
- Debugging complex issues across internal services, third-party APIs, and customer environments using logs, traces, and metrics.
- Improving integration reliability by addressing API changes, dependency updates, and performance challenges.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Customer Success, Support, Sales, Product, Security) to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Mentoring engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing on backend development.
- Contributing to shared engineering infrastructure, including libraries, CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and developer productivity initiatives.
- Monitoring technical quality and performance metrics to enhance system resilience and developer experience.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in backend engineering, with expertise in production-grade systems.
- Strong understanding of backend technologies, APIs, data flows, authentication, databases, and observability.
- Experience with REST APIs, OAuth, webhooks, API versioning, migrations, and third-party integrations.
- Ability to independently own technical projects, solve complex problems, and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Customer-focused mindset with experience translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Proficient in remote/distributed team collaboration with strong asynchronous communication.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools and agent-friendly workflows.
- Strong collaboration skills and mentorship experience.
- Familiarity with enterprise software environments and production support.
- Ability to work overlapping hours with U.S. East Coast teams during ramp-up.
