Sr Engineer: Audio Systems Engineer

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a talented Senior Engineer for its Audio Systems Group. This role is at the forefront of on-device AI and multimedia technology, focusing on the design and implementation of advanced audio and speech signal processing. You will play a key part in architecting and optimizing audio algorithms for deployment on next-generation Snapdragon platforms, impacting mobile, XR, compute, IoT, and automotive markets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, prototype, and commercialize innovative audio solutions.
• Analyze and validate the performance of audio subsystems, ensuring adherence to strict metrics for robustness, power, and stability on Qualcomm platforms.
• Implement, test, and troubleshoot audio solutions on embedded platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional R&D, systems, and integration teams to verify system use cases and provide commercialization support.
• Conduct acoustic performance testing and measurements, and lead demo prototyping efforts.
• Work closely with internal engineering teams and customers to drive the successful commercialization of audio technologies.
• Champion diversity and inclusion within Qualcomm and demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic, multi-tasking team environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Solid understanding of audio signal processing fundamentals.
• Experience with the Android Audio Framework (including Audio HAL, AudioFlinger, AAudio).
• Proven experience in developing, implementing, and debugging audio solutions and HW-SW interfaces.
• Strong programming proficiency in Embedded C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with embedded platforms, DSP architectures, real-time operating systems, and software design patterns.
• Expertise in both fixed-point and floating-point implementation.
• Demonstrated ability in audio system design, acoustic measurements, and performance analysis.
• Familiarity with DSP intrinsic and assembly programming is a significant advantage.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
• Ability to learn quickly, be self-motivated, and work independently across geographically dispersed teams.

Educational Requirements:

• Master's or PhD degree in Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Electrical, Computer Science, or a related field.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
• OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
• OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
