Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a talented Senior Engineer to join their dynamic Audio Systems Group in Hyderabad / Secunderabad, Telangana, India. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of on-device AI and multimedia technology, focusing on the design and implementation of advanced audio and speech signal processing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop comprehensive software audio systems, including reference designs and intellectual property (IP).
• Focus on core audio technologies such as echo cancellation, noise suppression, and speech enhancement algorithms.
• Create, prototype, and commercialize innovative audio solutions utilizing both traditional signal processing and machine learning (ML) methodologies.
• Analyze and validate the performance of audio subsystems to meet stringent metrics for robustness, power efficiency, and stability on Qualcomm's next-generation Snapdragon platforms.
• Implement, test, and troubleshoot fixed-point and floating-point algorithms, with a particular emphasis on ML-based audio features.
• Develop, optimize, and deploy audio ML models for various audio applications, prioritizing inference efficiency across NPUs, GPUs, and CPUs.
• Perform model evaluation, quantization, and compression techniques to enable fast and robust inference on embedded hardware.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional R&D, systems, and integration teams to verify system use cases and provide commercialization support.
• Conduct acoustic performance testing and measurements, and lead demo prototyping efforts.
• Work closely with internal engineering teams and external customers to drive the successful commercialization of cutting-edge audio technologies.
• Contribute to diversity and inclusion initiatives and demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic, multi-tasking team environment.

Requirements:

• A strong foundation in audio signal processing fundamentals.
• Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and debugging audio algorithms using both signal processing and ML approaches.
• Proficiency in Embedded C/C++, Matlab, and Python programming.
• Experience with embedded platforms, DSP architectures, real-time operating systems, and software design patterns.
• Familiarity with various model architectures including CNNs, RNNs, U-Nets, and Transformers for audio applications.
• Expertise in both fixed-point and floating-point implementation techniques.
• Proven ability in audio system design, acoustic measurements, and performance analysis.
• Familiarity with DSP intrinsic and assembly programming is considered a plus.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
• A quick learner, self-motivated, and capable of working independently across geographically dispersed teams.

Educational Qualifications:

• Master's or PhD degree in Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Electrical, Computer Science, or a related field.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
• OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
• OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of audio features, echo cancellation, noise suppression, and speech enhancement algorithms.
• Familiarity with the Qualcomm Audio framework.
• Familiarity with Qualcomm SDKs and tools.
