Full Job Description
Lightmatter, a leader in AI data center infrastructure based in Toronto, ON, is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Digital Mixed-Signal Architect to drive the future of photonic communication. This role is instrumental in defining the digital architecture for our cutting-edge photonic-based communication systems. You will collaborate extensively with our architecture, chip-design, software, test, validation, and firmware teams to deliver innovative products from concept to high-volume production.
As the digital architecture owner for Lightmatter’s Passage product, you will be responsible for architecting and specifying system-level digital designs that integrate complex Analog Mixed-Signal (AMS) and photonic circuits. Your expertise will be crucial in areas such as stabilization circuits for AMS and photonic devices, line-rate Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Forward Error Correction (FEC), Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC), and the tuning and adaptation of analog front-end components. You will also play a key role in enabling RTL and DV teams for implementation and verification, assist the firmware team with hardware bringup recipes, and author/review architectural specifications. Collaboration with product and applications engineering teams to produce customer-facing datasheets and reference designs is also a core part of this role. You will proactively identify potential improvements and pitfalls in proposed architectures, developing mitigation strategies.
