Sr. Design Engineer

About the Role:
As a Sr. Design Engineer- Security Systems at Johnson Controls India (Bengaluru / Bangalore), you will support pre-sales engineering for global security system projects aligned with local standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project inputs and specifications to capture scope and complete requirements.
• Review MEP drawings, SOPs, and identify equipment related to Security Systems (Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion Detection, Complete ELV systems).
• Led technical query resolution, compliance checks, risk management, and minute-taking during kick-off/review meetings.
• Select optimal combinations of hardware/software/materials within budget constraints using standard estimation guidelines.
• Create detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) including Backend/Controllers selection, Field Device identification, Network protocols, Cable Type calculations, etc.
• Prepare Costing Sheets with Preliminaries, comparison charts, technical write-ups, block diagrams, and deviation logs.
• Maintain quality assurance for defect-free deliverables ensuring on-time project completion.
• Escalate issues effectively to protect delivery schedules; document evidence for scope-creep deviations.
• Ensure timesheet compliance and provide weekly/monthly customer progress reports.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics or E&CE.
• 2-5 years of experience specifically with Security Systems (Access, Video, Intrusion, ELV).
• Expertise in local security guidelines and standards.
• Skillful in AutoCAD, MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Visio), Blue Beam.
• Familiarity with network protocols: BACnet, Modbus, OPC, etc.
• Demonstrated quick learning ability, problem-solving eye, and team collaboration skills.
