Senior Data Engineer - Chennai, India

PayPal is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data Foundational Services (DFS) team within the Data Analytics and Intelligence Solutions (DAIS) organization in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. This role is crucial for supporting critical business use cases by ensuring high-quality, scalable, and reliable data solutions across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will lead the design and development of complex data pipelines for data collection and processing, develop and maintain advanced data storage solutions, and ensure data quality and consistency through sophisticated validation and cleansing processes.

Qualifications:

• 8-10 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong proficiency in back-end technologies (Java or Python) for building and maintaining scalable services.
• Front-end experience (React, Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS) is an advantage.
• Experience with databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, ElasticSearch/Solr).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Deep understanding of designing systems for high availability, performance, and security, particularly in regulated industries like financial services.
