Role: Sr. Associate, Backend Engineer

About the Role: We are seeking a Full-stack Specialist with backend expertise for designing, developing, and maintaining in-house applications at Standard Chartered Bank. This role involves collaborating with engineering teams across different application layers to deliver high-quality products through sophisticated design and collaborative problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain scalable backend services using Java 17/21+, Spring Boot, REST/SOAP APIs, and ORM frameworks.
• Manage messaging platforms including Kafka, MQ, JMS, Solace, and AWS SQS for seamless data flow.
• Containerize applications with Docker and orchestrate on Kubernetes (EKS/OCP) ensuring consistent deployment across cloud environments like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Apache Maven, Jenkins, Git, and Azure DevOps to automate build processes and deployments.
• Ensure application security by adhering to standards with no high/critical vulnerabilities; implement SSL/TLS, mTLS, OAuth2, encryption, and tokenization protocols.
• Perform code reviews, refactor legacy codebases, optimize performance, and prioritize technical debt management within an Agile environment (Scrum/DevOps).
• Leverage AI tools for development efficiency while maintaining strict coding standards documented via Swagger/OpenAPI specifications.
