Sr. Application Engineer I

Join Johnson Controls as a Sr. Application Engineer I specializing in Fire & Security Systems in Pune. This role is pivotal in designing critical systems including Fire Alarm, Access Control, Intruder Alarm, and CCTV according to specific account standards.

Responsibilities include leveraging strong domain knowledge of Fire & Security System engineering, with a minimum of 6-8 years of global customer-facing experience. You will act as a key interface to customers, ensuring projects are executed within schedule and budget while meeting technical specifications. This position requires independent capability in hardware detail design, engineering, application development, and performing crucial calculations such as battery and voltage drop analysis. You will be responsible for developing typicals/templates for complex systems and establishing project-specific standards. Proficiency in understanding control narratives, logic diagrams, and Io Matrix is essential. The role involves monitoring work scope against project plans, managing change control, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring engineered solutions meet requirements for functionality, standards, and quality. Compliance with QMS procedures, identification and implementation of improvement opportunities, and effective application of common engineering methods, techniques, tools, and products are key. Quality checks on final deliverables to ensure they meet functional specifications are also a core part of this position. The use of engineering tools to optimize engineering man-hours for improved productivity and quality is expected.

Platforms expertise includes Honeywell, Simplex, Notifier, and VESDA for Fire Products; Tyco Security Products and Honeywell Security Products for Security Products; and Axis, American Dynamics, and Exacq Vision for Closed Circuit Television.

Required qualifications include a Diploma/BE in Electrical/Electronics with 6-8 years of mandatory experience in Fire & Security system design. Strong knowledge of fire codes and security domains is mandatory. NICET/BS 5839 & Security system product certifications are considered advantageous. Good knowledge of AutoCAD and strong communication skills are also required.
