Platform Software – Sr. Advanced Embedded Engineer

About the Role:

Honeywell Aerospace seeks a Senior Advanced Embedded Engineer to lead platform software architecture, design, and best practices within our Central Organization (CoE). You will develop cutting-edge software on latest generation processors with a constant focus on improving development efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities include designing and supporting Level A certification for boot software, the Platform Abstraction Layer (PAL), device drivers, middleware I/O, and network stacks. You must demonstrate strong expertise in embedded-platform software and avionics software certification, specifically DO-178C compliance.

You will own high- and low-level requirements, develop Board Support Packages (BSPs) for C/C++/Assembly code in bare-metal environments, host the Deos™ RTOS compliantly on multicore systems, and manage competing priorities to achieve stretch goals. Leadership in certification activities and fostering a culture of continuous improvement is essential.

Qualifications:

• BE/ME in Computer Science or Electronics with 8+ years of Real Time Embedded Software development experience.
• Expertise in processor architectures (x86, PPC, ARM), multicore technologies, and BSP/device driver design.
• Experience with protocols including ARINC 429, RS-422, RS-232, and Ethernet stacks.
