SQL Server Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions in SQL Server (2016 or newer).
• Design and optimize database schemas using normalization and denormalization techniques.
• Create and manage database objects like tables, indexes, and views for optimal performance and data integrity.
• Develop and implement SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from diverse sources.
• Integrate information from multiple disparate sources to support critical business needs, especially with large datasets.
• Utilize T-SQL, SSRS, and SSMS for development, reporting, and administration.
• Manage database changes and deployment processes in collaboration with development and operations teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues to ensure high availability and performance.
• Contribute effectively within a collaborative team environment, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server Developer, working with SQL Server (2016 or newer).
• Database Design & Development:
• Proficiency in database design, normalization, and denormalization.
• Proven experience in creating and maintaining tables, indexes, views, and other database objects.
• Strong experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Demonstrated ability to handle large datasets and integrate data from multiple sources.
• Tools & Technologies:
• Expertise in T-SQL, SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services), and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
• Familiarity with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) is advantageous.
• Version Control & Deployment:
• Experience with source control systems such as Git or SVN.
• Understanding of database deployment processes and change management.
• Problem-Solving & Communication:
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud databases like Azure SQL Database.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and OLAP cubes.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI.
