SQL Engineer

We are seeking an experienced SQL Engineer to join our team in Noida, UP, India. The ideal candidate will possess over 7 years of experience supporting traditional relational databases like SQL Server and PostgreSQL, with at least 3 years in public cloud environments such as GCP and Azure. You should have 5+ years of dedicated SQL Server experience (2008/2012 and above) and 2+ years with PostgreSQL as a secondary skill. Familiarity with MySQL, Azure SQL, MI instances, and GCP instances is a plus.

Key responsibilities include strong planning, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-availability database environments (Always-On, Clustering, Mirroring). Expertise in setting up health checks and resolving SQL backup, restore, and recovery issues is crucial. This role requires 24/7 shift support at L2/L3 levels, including on-call rotations. You should be capable of working independently on projects, conducting Proofs of Concept (POCs), and contributing to knowledge base articles, SOPs, and runbooks. Experience with capacity planning, Disaster Recovery (DR) setup, and new environment deployments for SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL is essential.

We are looking for a candidate passionate about delivering excellent customer service, able to work autonomously, and possessing strong written and oral communication skills. A solid foundation in ITIL, Continual Service Improvement, and Total Quality Management is highly valued. You will be responsible for reporting weekly to management on abnormalities and critical issues, providing root cause analysis and recommendations, and collaborating with infrastructure and application teams for problem resolution.

Furthermore, you should have 3+ years of Azure/GCP experience as a cloud DBA for SQL and PostgreSQL, along with 3+ years in diverse cloud support database environments within a 24/7 production support model. Python or PowerShell scripting experience is preferred. The ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, multi-task effectively, and context-switch between different activities and teams is key.

A B.Tech/BE/MCA in Information Technology or equivalent experience is required. We are looking for a proactive individual ready to work independently with minimal supervision.
