Functional QA Tester - Game Testing (Night Shift / US Shift) at Linearloop, Ahmedabad

Linearloop is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Functional QA Tester with at least 1-2 years of hands-on experience in game testing to join our dynamic QA team in Ahmedabad, India. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the high quality of our web and mobile gaming applications. The ideal candidate possesses a sharp eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to quality assurance. This position requires flexibility to work in night shifts, aligning with US time zones.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive functional, regression, and UI testing for web and mobile gaming applications.
• Validate critical gameplay mechanics, user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) elements, scoring logic, animations, and in-game interactions.
• Identify, document, and meticulously track defects using industry-standard tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Reproduce reported issues accurately, verify implemented fixes, and ensure proper defect closure.
• Collaborate effectively with development, design, and product teams to guarantee high-quality product releases.
• Execute test cases, scenarios, and checklists rigorously as per project requirements.
• Conduct thorough compatibility testing across various devices, screen sizes, browsers, and operating systems.
• Participate actively in test case reviews and contribute valuable insights for process improvements.
• Provide daily and weekly QA status reports, synchronized with US working hours.
• Engage actively in discussions, demonstrating effective listening, clear communication, and timely acknowledgments.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1-2 years of proven experience in functional testing, with specific exposure to web or mobile game testing.
• A strong understanding of Quality Assurance methodologies, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and the defect lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience testing interactive applications, including 2D/3D games, simulations, or similar software.
• Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or Trello.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• A highly proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness and ability to work night shifts (US hours) on a regular basis.
