As a Specialist in Software Engineering, you will serve as the technical authority for frontend engineering within the Experience Engineering and Digital Emerging Tech portfolios. Your role will involve leading the architectural design and delivery of high-performance, Experience-First web applications, which are crucial digital touchpoints for a prominent global FMCG leader. Operating within a hyperscaler-heavy environment, you will ensure our React-based interfaces are scalable, accessible, and seamlessly integrated with cloud-native backends, thereby delivering exceptional consumer and employee experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Frontend Architecture: Define and maintain the overarching React architecture, emphasizing modularity, reusability (Atomic Design), and scalability across various digital products.
• Technical Leadership: Guide a squad of frontend developers, providing technical direction, conducting rigorous code reviews, and establishing best-in-class coding practices.
• Experience Engineering: Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers to translate complex design systems into high-fidelity, responsive, and WCAG-compliant React components.
• Performance Engineering: Own frontend performance metrics (Core Web Vitals) and implement advanced optimization techniques such as code splitting, lazy loading, and efficient state management.
• Hyperscaler Integration: Architect how React applications consume services from hyperscalers (e.g., GCP Cloud Run, Azure App Services), managing complex data fetching, caching (React Query/SWR), and real-time updates (WebSockets).
• Emerging Tech UI: Lead the development of frontend interfaces for Digital Emerging Tech pilots, including GenAI-powered chat interfaces, interactive data visualizations, and AR-enabled web modules.
• State Management Logic: Design robust state management strategies using Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or React Context to ensure predictable data flow in large-scale applications.
• Testing & CI/CD: Foster a Test-First culture by implementing unit, integration, and E2E testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress/Playwright) integrated into automated pipelines.
• Mentorship: Act as a mentor to junior and senior developers, promoting continuous learning and staying current with the evolving React ecosystem (e.g., Server Components, Next.js App Router).

Primary Skills (Must-Have):

• Core Framework: Expert-level proficiency in React.js and its ecosystem.
• Language: Mastery of TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• State Management: Deep experience with Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or MobX.
• Styling/UI: Proficiency in Tailwind CSS, CSS-in-JS (Styled Components, Emotion), and building/maintaining Design Systems.
• Data Orchestration: Strong experience with TanStack Query (React Query) or SWR for server-state management.
• Build Tools: Experience with Vite, Webpack, and monorepo tools like Nx or Turbo.

Secondary Skills (Good-to-Have):

• Next.js: Experience with Next.js for SSR/SSG requirements in an enterprise context.
• Mobile-First: Knowledge of Progressive Web Apps (PWA) and React Native for cross-platform insights.
• Cloud Awareness: Basic understanding of GCP/Azure deployment services and CDN configurations.
• GenAI UI: Experience building interfaces that interact with LLM streaming APIs.
• FMCG Domain: Understanding of digital consumer journeys, retail execution, or e-commerce flows.

This role is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, within our India Global Delivery Center Regional Hub. We are seeking individuals with experience in Development Services, Experience Engineering, Mobile Applications, and Digital Emerging Technology within the Multinational FMCG industry.
