Specialist III

EY is seeking a Specialist III, Cloud Engineer in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. This role provides expert-level technical support for critical projects, focusing on troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware and software issues for new and existing technologies. Responsibilities include planning and developing technical standards, enforcing security best practices, supporting disaster recovery, and collaborating with teams to align cloud solutions with business needs. The role involves planning and implementing new cloud technologies and major releases for enterprise-wide IT cloud platform projects, designing, implementing, and deploying cloud computing systems, and identifying opportunities for improvement and performance issue resolution. Ensuring the reliable operation of cloud production, diagnosing complex issues across multiple platforms, and maintaining comprehensive technical knowledge of software and infrastructure platforms are key. The position also requires developing technical standards, testing and evaluating IT vendor products, and optimizing system performance for maximum uptime.

Key responsibilities include elevating code to development, test, and production environments, providing production support, and managing change control requests. Understanding client area business functions and requirements to determine appropriate technical tools is essential. The role involves training and mentoring junior staff, troubleshooting complex issues, providing guidance, and maintaining departmental documentation. System administration, writing technical deliverables, and performing systems analysis, including requirements definition and logical design, are also part of the role. Special project participation and other assigned duties are expected. Ensuring cloud infrastructure security and compliance, including disaster recovery and backup strategies, is critical. The role requires monitoring and managing hybrid cloud environments, utilizing automation for deployment and scaling, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design scalable cloud solutions. Maintaining clear and updated documentation on cloud architecture and system configurations is also a requirement.

Essential qualifications include a minimum of 8 years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure management, or cloud operations, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent experience, and hands-on expertise with GitHub, Bitbucket/Bamboo, CI/CD, Pipeline Development, AWS, Cloud Platform Development, and Cloud Application Development. Experience as a Tech Lead, informal coaching of engineers/developers, and familiarity with Scrum/Agile methodologies are required. Strong troubleshooting skills in cloud infrastructure, networking, security best practices, and performance optimization are crucial.

Ideal candidates will possess strong verbal and written communication, facilitation, relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills, along with flexibility, adaptability, and creativity.
