This role provides advanced technical support for complex projects within EY's Technology Consulting practice in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware and software issues across multiple technology domains. Key responsibilities include developing technical standards and documentation, enforcing security best practices, supporting disaster recovery initiatives, and collaborating with teams to align cloud solutions with business objectives.

The ideal candidate will design, implement, and deploy cloud platforms that meet business needs, identifying and implementing improvements and solutions for performance issues. They will provide advanced technical support to ensure the reliable operation of cloud production environments, troubleshoot software systems on various cloud computing platforms, and manage system integration into existing cloud infrastructure. Maintaining comprehensive technical knowledge of software and infrastructure platforms is crucial.

Responsibilities also include developing technical standards, testing and evaluating IT vendor products, and optimizing system performance and uptime by reviewing configuration parameters. The role involves deploying code to development, test, and cloud production environments on schedule, providing follow-up production support, and submitting change control requests and documentation. Understanding client business functions and requirements is key to determining the appropriate technical tools to address business needs. The engineer will also train and mentor junior staff, resolve complex issues escalated from the team, and maintain department documentation.

System administration activities, performing systems analysis including requirements and logical design, and contributing to special projects are also part of the role. Ensuring the security of cloud infrastructure, complying with internal governance and regulatory requirements, and overseeing hybrid cloud environments for optimal performance, uptime, and resource utilization are vital. The development and implementation of automation scripts and tools for streamlining deployment, configuration, and scaling of cloud resources, along with establishing and managing disaster recovery and business continuity protocols, are also key functions.

Success in this role requires strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, a commitment to continuous learning of new technologies, and the ability to become a trusted advisor. A minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure management, or cloud operations is required, along with a Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science/IT) or equivalent experience. Hands-on expertise with GitHub, Bitbucket/Bamboo, AWS Services, Cloud-based databases, CI/CD, Pipeline Development, Cloud Platform Development, and Cloud Based Application Development is essential. Experience as a Senior Engineer, with the ability to work independently, a passion for solving developer pain points, and familiarity with scrum/agile methodologies are expected. Strong troubleshooting skills in cloud infrastructure, networking, security best practices, and performance optimization are required.

Ideally, candidates will possess strong verbal and written communication, facilitation, relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills, along with flexibility, adaptability, and creativity.
