Specialist I

Join PowerSchool India's Enterprise Security team as a Specialist I in Bengaluru, where you will play a vital role in protecting our critical enterprise systems, applications, data, and assets. This role is central to safeguarding our information, infrastructure, applications, and business processes against evolving cyber threats.

Your Responsibilities:

• Serve as the first line of defense by identifying, securing, and reacting to pre-defined security alerts using established runbooks.
• Support the response to high-impact security incidents, collaborating with internal stakeholders across the company.
• Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats and technologies, contributing to the continuous improvement of our processes and solutions.
• Utilize and manage key security tools such as SIEM, Endpoint Protection, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
• Analyze vulnerability scan results and security logs to identify risk patterns or potential breaches.
• Assess and remediate pre-documented low-risk security events.
• Assist in automating routine security tasks and event treatment using available tools and scripting languages.
• Execute Security Operations Center (SOC) procedures and runbooks, actively contributing to their refinement.
• Conduct root cause analysis of security incidents in partnership with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and application teams.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1 year or less of relevant work experience in a security-focused role.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or an equivalent number of years of relevant work experience.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A relevant security certification is preferred but not required.
• Experience with Google SecOps is considered a plus.
