Solutions Architect

About the Role

As Manager of Public Sector Solutions Architects, you will lead a team serving public sector customers at the intersection of technical strategy and customer outcomes. You will drive high-impact opportunities in US-based environments (US Citizenship required), guide pre-sales efforts from planning through monitoring, and connect GitLab's DevSecOps platform to mission-critical needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic initiatives supporting public sector sales goals.
• Manage hiring, coaching, feedback loops, and retention for Solutions Architects globally or remotely.
• Guide technical evaluations helping customers align GitLab with business requirements.
• Collaborate with regional sales managers on account strategies and cross-functional leaders on complex deals.
• Improve team execution practices across functions including Engineering, Product Management, and Marketing.
• Promote company values day-to-day while acting as a Solutions Architect on select opportunities to model customer engagement excellence.

What You'll Bring

• Public sector experience (3-5 years).
• Leadership background: 2+ years leading high-performing teams, ideally in global/remote settings with accountability for execution and performance management.
• Tech pre-sales or IT solution design experience supporting customer-facing deliverables.
• Knowledge of modern software delivery lifecycle (DevSecOps).
• Familiarity with cloud computing technologies enabling secure, scalable adoption.
• Mentoring capabilities: giving/receiving constructive feedback respectfully.
• Cross-functional partnership skills to develop shared strategies.
• Perspective on regulated or mission-driven public sector customer environments.

Compensation & Benefits

This role is open only to US residents. Base salary range: $183,200—$308,400 USD (US market data). Eligible for incentives up to 100% of base plus equity and benefits including flexible PTO, health/financial support, team member resource groups, ESPPs, parental leave, and growth funds.
