Solution Architect

We are seeking a highly experienced Solution Architect to drive the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native solutions for a major enterprise commerce platform. While Microsoft Azure is preferred, candidates with production-grade experience in AWS or GCP will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and lead the development of cloud-native systems using microservices and event-driven paradigms.
• Design solutions leveraging Kubernetes (preferably AKS) and service mesh technologies like Istio.
• Define and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and best practices across engineering teams.
• Drive performance optimization initiatives through end-to-end testing to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business goals with technical solutions.
• Create and maintain architectural diagrams using industry-standard tools (e.g., Miro, Gliffy).
• Guide teams through cloud adoption, modernization, and optimization initiatives.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for applicability to specific business needs.
• Leverage AI use cases within the Cordant ecosystem to generate productivity gains using Copilot.

Requirements:

• 15-20 years in software engineering with 10+ years specifically in architecture; hands-on coding required.
• Proven experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or GCP) in production environments.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Knowledge of NFR, architecture governance, documentation, system design, and trade-offs.
• Familiarity with databases: CosmosDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Oracle.
• Proficiency in messaging technologies including Kafka and EventHub.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, IAM, security, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep).
• Demonstrated ability to lead architectural discussions and influence technical direction.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
• Familiarity with FinOps, observability, and cloud governance.
• Skills in Hybris e-commerce.
• Showcase of Istio or other service mesh experience.
