Software Tools Development Engineer

Join Arista Networks as a Software Tools Development Engineer for the Hardware Team in Pune, India. You will be instrumental in developing software tools that enhance Arista’s hardware development workflow, aiming to improve quality and deliver superior products. This role involves close collaboration with multi-disciplinary engineers to hone our hardware development processes.

Your responsibilities will encompass the entire unit software design process, including authoring stress tests for hardware conceptual designs, creating functional specifications, and debugging complex issues in multi-server execution environments. You will also review peer code, develop unit tests for validation, and create documentation and test reports. A key part of the role involves identifying root causes of unexpected issues, developing multi-layered patches, and driving your own efforts to contribute to the hardware tools team’s priorities. You will gain exposure to various code languages such as C/C++, Golang, Python, and TCL, supporting the team's development software suites.

We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, and 3-5 years of relevant experience in software engineering for tools development. Ideal candidates are self-motivated with a passion for high-quality software solutions, possess strong curiosity for continuous learning, and have excellent communication and team-driven skills. Experience with large software ecosystems utilizing CI/CD workflows, multi-processor clusters, and fundamental knowledge of networking protocols are essential. An enthusiasm for collaborative work with multidisciplinary teams is highly valued.
