Software Test Development Engineer

Abbott Laboratories in Mumbai, Maharashtra is seeking a Software Test Development Engineer to join their dynamic team. This full-time role involves contributing to the Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) by completing software testing activities for user stories, with a focus on technical products like UI, SDK, or API-based solutions.

Key responsibilities include creating comprehensive verification and validation test plans, detailed test reports, and trace matrices that incorporate automated tests. You will collaborate with development and quality assurance stakeholders for reviews. A significant part of this role involves building and enhancing an automation framework specifically for mobile applications (iOS and Android).

The ideal candidate will ensure the automation framework integrates seamlessly with the Quality Management system, providing rapid feedback to Agile development teams. It should cover a wide range of scenarios, including functional, end-to-end, compatibility, and use-case testing. Collaboration with DevOps and other teams is crucial for integrating test automation with build systems, test management systems, and device clouds.

You will be responsible for converting manual test cases into automation scripts and, where applicable, developing automation scripts directly from system requirements and story acceptance criteria. Furthermore, you'll have the opportunity to provide valuable feedback and suggest improvements to the Agile SDLC process.

Essential qualifications include:

• Strong technical acumen and hands-on coding experience in programming languages such as Java and Python.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Software Development in Test Engineering role.
