About this role:
Wells Fargo seeks an innovative Software Engineer specializing in Java Backend development using Spring Boot and Kafka within cloud-native environments. You will drive technical excellence on low to moderately complex initiatives focused on installation, upgrades, deployment, and service quality improvements.
- Core Responsibilities:
- Design, code, test, debug, and document projects involving technology domain upgrades and deployments.
- Analyze technical assignments related to risk deliverables, evaluating alternative technologies.
- Present recommendations for issue resolution or escalate as needed to meet SLAs.
- Exercise independent judgment regarding security and compliance requirements within the tech stack.
- Collaborate with technology colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of software engineering experience (or equivalent via training/military/education).
Desired Qualifications & Skills:
- Fresh graduates from the Class of 2023 are particularly encouraged to apply.
- Languages/Frameworks: Strong proficiency in Java/JEE, Spring framework, JavaScript, and RESTful web services. Familiarity with UI frameworks like Angular or React is a plus.
- Architecture: Deep understanding of microservices architecture and associated design patterns.
- Testing & Tools: Experience with Junit for unit testing, Maven/Gradle for builds, GitHub/GitLab for version control, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
- Databases: Working knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Security & DevOps: Ability to identify/remediate security vulnerabilities, familiarity with TDD/BDD practices, and strong understanding of cloud-native concepts and DevOps methodologies (MQ, Solace, Kafka).
- Distribution: Experience working in globally distributed Agile/Scrum teams.
Job Expectations & Additional Requirements:
- Candidates should ideally be Full Stack developers with experience implementing large, complex applications and Microservices-based solutions.
- Mandatory familiarity with SDLC processes within an Agile-Scrum environment.
- Experience in Middleware application development is required.
- Demonstrated expertise in Automated CI/CD for build/deployment using Jenkins.
