The Role and Team

At Medallia's Platform team, you will build and operate critical backend services powering survey execution, distribution, processing, and collection across the platform. Our systems support large-scale, highly available workloads for many enterprise customers. The team owns capabilities related to response processing, messaging integrations, and streaming pipelines that turn raw events into reliable data.

Responsibilities

• Drive resolution on open architectural questions regarding store ownership, materialization strategies, and enrichment integration.
• Own the integrity of core data invariants across teams, including multi-tenant isolation via composite entity keys and rule enforcement for enrichments versus interaction data.
• Design pipeline and schema evolution patterns to ensure datasets evolve without migrations or downtime.
• Lead technical design for major cross-team initiatives, such as ingesting data from existing products alongside Nexus-native data and integrating AI agents (survey-building assistants) via protocols like MCP/A2A.
• Mentor senior engineers on distributed systems design, multi-tenant correctness, and trade-off reasoning in high-stakes environments where errors can cause silent failures or expensive issues.
• Represent engineering in architecture reviews across team boundaries and author primary documentation for the organization.
• Built hard, highest-leverage pieces of cross-cutting initiatives personally.
